SCAFFOLD ERECTOR :
A scaffold erector installs & dismantles
scaffolding to provide access to interiors or exteriors of new
or existing structures, for constructing, painting, repairing,
and maintenance.

Tasks &
Duties
A scaffold erector checks
the site conditions and installs scaffolding systems in a safe
and orderly manner. The erector is responsible for loading and unloading
the scaffolding from the truck, assembling scaffold components,
which includes scaffold framing, scaffold planking, access ladders and guard
railing. It is also the responsibility of the erector to
execute all necessary safety and inventory documentation. A
Class B drivers license that is free of citations is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge
Scaffold Erectors need to
be well organized and be able to follow instruction in order to
erect scaffolding safely and correctly. They also need to have
a good eye for detail and the ability to identify potential
hazards such as overhead power lines, fall hazards, etc. Non experienced Scaffold Erectors need to know about erection
procedures and safety regulations. They also need to
know about scaffolding components and materials, the
use and care of equipment and how to interpret building plans
and diagrams. WSDL required.

Personal
Qualities
Scaffold Erectors must be safety-conscious, careful,
responsible, accurate and practical. It is also important that
they are accustom to working at heights. Drugs use is
prohibited unless under the supervision of a doctor.

Physical
Requirements
Scaffold Erectors need to be fit and healthy, and
have a good
sense of balance.

Job
Training
Training
is available for the non experienced. This training is in the
form of written material and exams. Scaffold Erectors can gain
experience and refine their skills on the job and are
compensated for their safety and expertise.

Work Places and
Travel
Scaffold
Erectors work indoors and outdoors erecting scaffolding in such places
it is necessary to access areas to be newly built or renovated,
where the access of these areas are not easily accessed by other
methods, such as with ladders or aerial man lifts. They also erect scaffolding inside
places such as halls and public venues for stages or bleacher
seating. Erectors travel to various work
sites and may travel out of town overnight.

Workplace
Conditions
Scaffold Erectors work under various conditions at
heights in all weather conditions. Scaffold erectors generally
work in small groups of 2 or3 and have contact with clients and other
professionals such as builders, engineers and painters.
Erectors work under the supervision of a supervisor.

Hours
Scaffold Erectors usually work regular 40 hour weeks.
Occasionally, they may work evenings and weekends.

Maintain Warehouse
and Yard.

Tasks &
Duties
This position requires the employee to
maintain the yard and equipment in good working condition and
stored neatly. Forklift operation is required as well as
to operate small power tools such as drills, cut off saws and
brooms. Must be able to execute rental and sales agreements.

Employees must be courteous with customers and must be accurate
with inventory documents.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs, occasionally.

to jobsites on medium size trucks. Maintain good driving record.

Deliver inventory to jobsites.
Executive delivery rental or sales agreement.

Class A, B or C drivers license.
Operate forklift to load orders.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs, occasionally.
